India Win Historic Third Champions Trophy Title

India defeated New Zealand in the final to become the first team to win three ICC Champions Trophy titles.

India capped off a dominant Champions Trophy campaign by defeating New Zealand in the final, becoming the first team to win three Champions Trophy titles.

The Tournament

The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy was hosted by Pakistan from February 19 to March 9, 2025, with India's matches played in the UAE due to India's refusal to travel to Pakistan. The tournament featured 15 matches across three venues.

India's Campaign

India were clinical throughout, winning every match convincingly. Their bowling attack was the standout, restricting opponents consistently on what were generally good batting surfaces.

Pakistan's Hosting Success

The PCB reported earnings of approximately USD 10 million in profit from hosting the event, making it a commercial success despite the India-related complications.

Legacy

This title adds to India's 2002 and 2013 Champions Trophy wins. With the 2024 T20 World Cup already in the bag, India's white-ball dominance over the past two years has been remarkable.
